Rhea Leonard (b. 1991)  is an African-American artist, born and raised in Miami, who utilizes drawing, printmaking and sculpture in her art practice to investigate psychological aspects of racism, anti-Blackness, and microaggressions of today in society. Her work has been exhibited for over a decade all over South Florida including Art Basel in 2018 with RAW Popup which included a group of artists transforming a space to an immersive art space.

Highlights:
  • In 2018, Rhea Leonard received the Betty Laird Perry Award, her work is part of The Betty Laird Perry Emerging Artist Collection at the Patricia & Phillip Frost Art Museum
  • Leonard was also one of the artists featured in Miami MoCAAD’s first art exhibition, “Reconstructing Identity”:  An Exploration of Identity and Diaspora Through Artistic Practice (see the picture and video below!)
  • Currently Leonard is a resident of The Bakehouse Art Complex in Miami.
